Investing in Vitosha Foothills: Is it worth the premium?

I am currently looking to relocate to Sofia and am strongly considering the gated communities situated at the foot of Vitosha mountain, specifically around Boyana and Dragalevtsi. I am curious to hear from current residents or local experts about whether the higher price point for these luxury properties is justified by the lifestyle and air quality compared to the city center. Additionally, are there any specific developments that offer better infrastructure and long-term value retention in this region?

I've lived in Boyana for five years now, and the air quality difference is night and day compared to the center. If you value quiet nights and mountain views, the premium is absolutely worth it.

Don't expect the infrastructure to be perfect. The roads in Dragalevtsi can get quite narrow and congested during school drop-off hours, but the lifestyle benefits definitely outweigh the traffic frustrations.

Boyana is fantastic if you work remotely, but be prepared to drive everywhere. Public transport is practically non-existent compared to the city center, so owning a reliable car is mandatory.
